Sarah May Tanner

Sarah May Tanner
Born: 03 April '09, 9:32am
Weight: 7lbs 11oz
Length: 18.5 in

Healthy, happy, and finally ... home.

She was the quietest one in the nursery; she loved laying in the tanning bed.

Of all of us, delivery was by far the hardest on Katie.

Cute.

Big Girl

Katie loves to wash her hands by herself, but she can't quite reach the sink. So, she improvises; she hops up to the sink and balances on her tummy while she washes her hands (note the gap between feet and stool).

On another note, we were all playing together and JaNae accused me of being grouchy. When Katie heard this, she said "I get a shot for poke" (translation: I'll go get my syringe to give daddy a shot); she came out of her room with her toy syringe and gave me a shot of "happy juice." So if you bring your grouchy attitute to the Tanner home, Katie has just the cure.

Acceptance

I think David has accepted the fact that he has a very girly girl for a daughter. And if he wants to play it has to be her way. With another girl on the way I don't know how he is going to survive.

Computer Savvy

Here is a nice Daddy-Daughter moment: chocolate covered treats from Mommy for Valentine's Day. And if you look closely, you can see Katie's first haircut (or not really, we just took off an inch).

Rarely does Katie get to play on the computer by herself. So when she does, she takes it very seriously.

Wintertime

I've finally come to accept that even though it is freezing and snow is on the ground my toddler still wants to go outside and play. So, on Saturday we bundled her up and went outside. She had a blast! We also went to the Champaign parade of lights. Katie liked listening to the bands play and the firetrucks. I liked the hot chocolate.

Happy Thanksgiving/Birthday

First a big thank you to Uncle Mark and Aunt Suz for hosting us. Thank you so much and the food was amazing! Katie has been asking for "pie" ever since we left. Thanksgiving was full of lots of food and lots of rest. Yeah! We ended the week with my birthday (another excuse for more delicious goodies-thanks to my wonderful cooking husband). We are now very full and happy people.

All friends and family beware. Katie is learning that mommy has a baby in her tummy. So anyone with a "tummy" Katie likes to point it out and yell "BABY" as loud as she can. She has repeated told David all about the baby in his tummy. So beware she is not rude just 2!!! :)
