Dressed up

Here are my girls dressed up ready to go out to the ward party.

As a parent, I often have these grand visions of how experiences are going to turn out, happening in my head. Then reality happens and it becomes twice as funny because they are totally opposite.

Picture Update

Halloween weekend David's parents were is town. We went to a football game. Total blast....mostly.

What happens to Daddy when he comes home and the girls have missed him.

Katie's Birthday

This is months late. But, it will make the grandparents very happy. When I asked Katie what she wanted for her birthday she said, "I want pink." So, pink it what she got. Everything was pink.

Katie woke up to a Happy Birthday balloon just outside her door. When we heard the "wow" we hurried and got up. Daddy took her back to bed and I brought up cinnimon rolls with pink frosting. Downstairs we had decorated with streamer and balloons, all pink. It was a good day. Holidays are becoming more and more exciting now that Katie understands a looks forward to special days.

And the most excited cheerleader for this day- Sarah.

Girl's Room

We decorated their spaces with their names.

And we put magic sparkles on the wall.

Labor Day Picnic

Sarah knows just what to do on vacation.

Katie and mom go for a hike.

Fun in St. Louis

Sarah, what are you doing? Huh.

Yeah, the gateway to the west.

This'll get us there much faster...(you can find this gateway in the Union Station)

Five Months

She's happy.
She sleeps anywhere.

But she's just learning the art of "the spoon."

Katie What's for Dinner?

Katie loves to play pretend. Right now it is all about cooking.

Circus!

Saturday we went to the circus. We had never been before, but it was a total blast.

The big top.

Us out in front of the circus.

We found some front row benches. SWEEET!

Katie loved her authentic circus popcorn.

The elephants were so cool. Katie wouldn't ride them but they did cool tricks: congo line, dancing in circles, walking on two legs...

What happens to a toddler who get over stimulated for two hours with loud music and bright lights? She sits on your foot, refuses to walk and holds on for dear life.

We all had fun. David's favorite part was talking with Kevin and Sarah from 94.5 "The Mix".

This is what a toddler turns into after the circus; gooey mush.

Photo Update

Sarah has the smilies. If you give her an ounce of attention you are greatly rewarded with a huge gummey smile.

Sarah is rolling over. She can roll from her stomach to her back. And recently from her back to her side. Does her hair stick up still? Absolutely!!! It just keep getting longer.

Katie is getting so big. She looks forward to Toddler Time each week. We are going to miss it. Whenever I tell her to get ready to go she quickly gets her shoes on. Runs and picks up my shoes and tells me to hurry and get the car keys while impatiently standing by the front door.

And for the grandparent's, Katie reading to Sarah before bed. Totally cute.

Sarah rolls over!

Katie likes to cross her legs like a little lady; and she LOVES icecream.
Our happy chunker.

Sarah rolls over (and over and over and over).

Only A Child Can Be This Sincere

Katie knows that if she has an ouchy, mom and dad are always willing to kiss it better. Recently, Katie fell and hurt her bum. She said to me, sincerely, "Daddy, I have ouchy bum; kiss my bum."

St. Louis Zoo

Saturday morning we woke up early and drove to St. Louis Zoo, eating McDonald's breakfast along the way. We packed a picnic lunch and spent all day there. It is a GREAT children's zoo. All the animals were easy for Katie to see; there are tons of animals, and best of all it is free!

Sarah had the official job of "Map Keeper". She was flawless.

Katie wearing all her gear.

We had a fun family picnic for lunch. Katie didn't like her sandwich; she just wanted to eat trail mix.

The Highlights:
the penguin house; the inside is arctic-ly airconditioned
the hippos actually moved quite a bit
Katie liked hissing at the turtles in the reptile house
topping the day off with a snow cone
And we did all this WITHOUT GETTING SUN-BURNED! This is quite the accomplishment for the fair-skinned Tanners.

Sarah is our little Spa baby. Her favorite activities are: bath time, being oiled and lotioned, scalp massages and being held. Such activities are guaranteed to stop any crying.

Gardening

Mother's Day weekend we planted an herb garden. Katie was daddy's little helper, she is an expert at playing in the dirt. She did a great job.

Baby blessing

Today was Sarah's baby blessing. Here are some pictures...enjoy! Funny moment of the day: When daddy was bringing Sarah back after the blessing Katie stands up on the pew and yells "Sarah come on" over and over while waving her back. Very cute and very loud :)

Grandpa Tanner came to visit this weekend. We had fun and were so glad her was able to come. We didn't get any pictures which is unfortunate because he has long hair and a beard right now.

1 month old!

Already. I can't believe a month has already gone by. She is growing so quickly...too quickly.

Grandma Visits

Grandma came to visit! And it was so fun. We already miss you and were so glad you came. No one takes care of you like mommy. Come back soon and bring daddy :)

Meadowbrook hike

Katie was ready to get out and run free. So, we took her to Meadowbrook Park. We walked the trail. Katie didn't surprisingly well (we just walked no strollers). It also took a ridiculously long time. She stopped at EVERY bench to sit down. But it was fun.
