Saturday morning we woke up early and drove to St. Louis Zoo, eating McDonald's breakfast along the way. We packed a picnic lunch and spent all day there. It is a GREAT children's zoo. All the animals were easy for Katie to see; there are tons of animals, and best of all it is free!

Sarah had the official job of "Map Keeper". She was flawless.

We had a fun family picnic for lunch. Katie didn't like her sandwich; she just wanted to eat trail mix.

The Highlights:
the penguin house; the inside is arctic-ly airconditioned
the hippos actually moved quite a bit
Katie liked hissing at the turtles in the reptile house
topping the day off with a snow cone
And we did all this WITHOUT GETTING SUN-BURNED! This is quite the accomplishment for the fair-skinned Tanners.

Sarah is our little Spa baby. Her favorite activities are: bath time, being oiled and lotioned, scalp massages and being held. Such activities are guaranteed to stop any crying.
